We are pleased to provide you the attached Guidelines of the DA Search for Outstanding Rural Women or the “Gawad Parangal sa Katangi-tanging Kababaihan sa Kanayunan” approved by Secretary William D. Dar. Attached also is the Nominee’s profile form to be accomplished.

Since 2003, the DA has been conducting the Search as part of the DA Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) client-focused activity pursuant to the Magna Carta of Women (MCW) which provides the following in Section 23 of the MCW implementing Rules and Regulations:

“The Department of Agriculture (DA), in coordination with other concerned Departments, LGUs, and stakeholders shall:(a)undertake programs and projects on food security that are gender-responsive; (b) recognize women as farmers and fisherfolk and give them equal opportunities to participate in programs and projects.”

Your cooperation in disseminating the Search Guidelines to the Local Government Units (LGUs) and other concerned offices in your area of operation will highly be appreciated. As indicated in the Schedule, the deadline for the submission of the regional winners award will be on July 7, 2022.
