LOOK: Earlier today, January 10, 2024, DA Undersecretary for Fisheries Drusila Esther E. Bayate, led the first ever National Steering Committee Meeting for the country’s newest and biggest project for the fisheries industry–the Philippine Fisheries and Coastal Resiliency (FishCoRe) Project. The meeting steered the direction on how the project will run through the course of this year’s calendar and magnified some parts for the betterment of its implementation.
The meeting was joined by DA-BFAR National Director, Atty. Demosthenes R. Escoto, and other officials from partner government agencies such as the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI), Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA), and the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) of the Department of Agriculture that are continuously showing their support and commitment to the said project.
In collaboration with the World Bank, FishCoRe Project is a 7-year project that will run from 2023-2029, aims to improve management of fishery resources and enhance the value of fisheries production in selected Fisheries Management Areas 6 and 9.
