The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) acknowledges Finfish Hatcheries Inc. (FHI) and the local officials of the municipality of Malapatan, Sarangani, for leading the restocking initiative of over 10 million bangus fry in the waters of Lun Masla, Sarangani Province, on August 5.

FHI operations manager, Dorie Ticao, said the massive replenishment effort was the company’s way of giving back to the community and the environment, upon which some fishermen rely.

The company is the Philippines’ first and largest commercial fry hatchery, with farms and hatcheries located in the municipality of Malapatan.

The Malapatan LGU, represented by Vice Mayor Jean Delos Santos, expressed gratitude to the hatcheries firm for replenishing Lun Masla’s waters with bangus fry. #
