The Bureau’s successful execution of this mission through DA-BFAR’s multi-mission vessel, BRP Francisco Dagohoy, has brought immense benefits to coastal communities in Pag-asa Island who often face logistical challenges.

This initiative targets not only to enhance the productivity of the fishing sector in the Island but also improve the socio-economic well-being of the families relying on fishing as their primary source of income by helping them maximize their catch and reduce post-harvest losses. It also stands as a testament of the government’s commitment to sustainably develop the country’s fishing industry and attain food security.
