This April, the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR) joins in the celebration of Filipino Food Month.

As per Presidential Proclamation 469, Filipino Food Month is held to promote, preserve, and pass down the vast Filipino culinary traditions to the present and future generations, as well as to provide support to our farmers and fisherfolk.

Culinary tradition is recognized as part of our cultural heritage that highlights a nation’s character and fosters national pride and sense of belongingness. The Filipino Food Month or the Buwan ng Kalutong Pilipino celebrates the Filipino culinary traditions, giving center stage to its exquisite flavors and treasures that need only be savored and enjoyed.

This annual event is spearheaded by the Department of Agriculture – Philippines, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and the Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement.
