NEWS RELEASE: ISDABA’s livelihood project thrives as a small community market

CAVITE, January 10, 2025—With two months of operation since its opening last November 11, 2024, the Isdaan ng Barangay A. Dalusag (ISDABA) talipapa and fish tank continue to flourish within the community of General Emilio Aguinaldo, Cavite. Anticipating the influx of consumers during the holiday season, the ISDABA took advantage of selling various commodities, including vegetables, fishery products and round-shaped fruits, which are popular in the Filipino tradition of celebrating the New Year. The talipapa business offers an opportunity to their members to have an additional income from their part time job. After 51 days of operation, ISDABA’s talipapa accumulated an average net income of Php 19,000.00, after deducting all expenses incurred.

Likewise, during the two months of culture in concrete fish tanks, the tilapia juveniles reached the size of 4-5 inches, making them harvestable in 3-4 months. Eventually, the harvested fish will be sold in the talipapa, ensuring a continuous supply of fish.
Currently, ISDABA members are preparing the necessary documents for their business registration at the barangay and municipal levels. In addition, they are planning to complete their requirements to open a bank account to secure their funds.
