DA-BFAR CENTRAL OFFICE INSTALLS ANDROID TABLETS FOR CONTACTLESS TRANSACTIONS WITH CLIENTS UNDER THE ‘NEW NORMAL’
In a bid to comply with the minimum health standards set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases and the Department of Health, the Department of Agriculture (DA), through the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), has installed Android tablets in the main receiving areas of the Bureau’s Central Office. This move ensures contactless transactions with clients to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in DA-BFAR’s frontline offices.
A total of thirty (30) units of Android tablets, previously used in the Bureau’s Boat Registration (BoatR) Program, are now repurposed as client-receiving tablets to lessen the physical contact between the clients and skeleton workforce of the Bureau.
Four major receiving areas located in the Guard Stations of the second floor, third floor, Annex, and the covered court of the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) Building Complex, where frontline services of the Bureau are located, will each have one unit of the client-receiving tablet. All division and unit offices will also have a tablet installed in their respective offices to digital receive the clients.
External clients can make follow-ups and document requests through the device’s video call function without the need to physically visit the frontline offices of the Bureau. The project’s implementation is spearheaded by BFAR – Fisheries Information Management Center (FIMC) in coordination with BFAR Administrative Services Division.
