BFAR Central Luzon joins this year’s celebration of Month of the Ocean with the theme, “ Para sa Tao: Protected Areas for a Protected Future.”
Marine Protected Areas or MPAs are established to protect marine resources that are threatened by human activity, and to promote and preserve biodiversity which makes the ecosystem healthier. MPAs also help local communities - protected mangrove forests and coral reefs along coastlines provide healthy habitats for marine life and strengthen the shoreline against erosion.
This is just one approach to help. There are many ways to protect the ocean. All are encouraged to take part in making sustainable choices to safeguard not just the ocean but our health and our survival. All these are interconnected, all these will support the future generation. Every little action counts.
