The Regional Fisheries Inspection and Quarantine Section (RFIQS) together with the Provincial Fishery Offices continue to issue Local Transport Permits (LTP) and Food Passes.
A report on May 4, 2020 of the RFIQS showed that fishery products were transported to the six (6) regions in Mindanao: Region 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and BARRM; Region 8 in the Visayas; and Manila. The top three commodities transported from General Santos City are the skip jack (68,467 kgs), round scad (60,730 kgs) and yellowfin tuna (46,500 kgs).
As of May 4, 2020, RFIQS has served a total of 1,698 clients/shippers.
Despite the lifting of some areas from Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) to General Community Quarantine (GCQ) category, the LTPs and Food Passes are still necessary documents required to ensure the unhampered movement of fishery products throughout the Philippines even in GCQ implementation.
