KADIWA ON WHEELS ROLLS OUT IN DAVAO CITY
KADIWA, which stands for “Katuwang sa Diwa at Gawa para sa Masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita”, was finally launched in Davao City with its first stop at Talomo Barangay Hall, Brgy. Talomo on April 3, 2020. The Kadiwa on Wheels in Davao City was organized by DA- Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division and participated by the Davao Region Agriculture Cooperative, Vegetable Industry Council of Southern Mindanao, and Babali Farmers Incorporated.
The implemented Kadiwa on wheels is a modified program by the Department of Agriculture, wherein agricultural products, fishery products and other basic commodities, are conveniently made available to the public during the observance of the nationwide COVID-19 quarantine measures.
Aside from helping the public in providing access to nutritious food, such as vegetables, meats, and fishes, this program also aims to provide assistance to food producers in order to have an efficient venue to sell their produce or products during this trying times.
As of today, in coordination with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region XI through the Post-Harvest and Marketing Division, Kadiwa on Wheels will also offer fishery products supplied by selected Fish vendors and producers. Moreover, all items or produce available in Kadiwa on Wheels observe the suggested retail price.
BFAR XI will continue to find and link other fish vendors in order to provide a wide selection of fish items and fishery products that will be made available to the public.
Below is the schedule of Kadiwa on wheels stops that you can visit. Also, make sure to bring your own eco bag or bayong. Quarantine measures such as social distancing and wearing of face masks must likewise be observed.
