Rene Oporto, Pagalungan’s barangay captain, expressed his gratitude towards the bureau, saying, “Pasalamat ta sa mga taga BFAR nga atong lawa ang napili. Sugod ugma ipakita g’yod nato ang atong kamatinud-anon ug commitment sa maong programa”.
Further, on February 19, Danao Lake was cleared of debris. This is in preparation for the establishment of a brush park in the area.
The brush parks are expected to enhance the stock of carp and tilapia in Danao Lake benefiting over 2, 948 residents of Pagalungan in the next five years.
Since its launch in Region 10 in 2018, BASIL, an expansion program of the National Inland Fisheries Enhancement Program (NIFEP), has already rehabilitated 12 bodies of water within region 10. #oneda
