𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗵, 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗼
A total of 150 fisherfolk in the municipalities of Conner (92) and Kabugao (58) in Apayao were given the PhP 5,000.00 worth of cash and food assistance under the RA 11494 or known as Bayanihan to Recover As One Act.
This is part of the interventions for the agriculture sector as its COVID-19 response and recovery effort to support the marginalized farmers and fisherfolk during the pandemic.
This Cash and Food Subsidy Program aims to provide direct food and financial assistance in the amount of Five Thousand Pesos (Php. 5,000.00) to eligible registered fisherfolk in the Cordilleras. The cash assistance worth PHP 3,000.00 can be claimed at any MLhullier branch while the PHP 2,000.00 will be provided in the form of goods such as half cavan rice, 3kg dressed chicken and 2 trays of egg.
The Malayugan Rice Grannary Farmers Association, as DA-recognized KADIWA supplier, facilitated the distribution of food assistance.
In Apayao province, there are 4,244 targeted fisherfolk beneficiaries of the said program. The distribution of vouchers was spearheaded by RD Lilibeth L. Signey, Apayao PFO Meynard V. Domingo, CFSMFF Focal Hector M. De Guzman, together with Conner Mayor Martina W. Dangoy, Municipal Agriculturist Corazon P. Gasmeña and Kabugao MA Clarina D. Peralta.
