BFAR XI CONDUCTS BANGUS DEBONING TRAINING
BFAR XI responded to New Davao Dolphin Ventures Corporation’s (NDDVC) request, with the conduct of Bangus Deboning Training earlier today January 13, 2021. Capacitating the staff with the know-how to make bangus acceptable to wider range of consumers, BFAR provided trainers to NDDVC’s staff. Under the instructions of Regional Director, Raul C. Millana, MFT the training was conducted by Mr. Edmond Soyosa, from Technology Outreach Station – Tagabuli and Ms. Rove Mae Domogho, Technical Staff from the Regional Fisheries Training and Fisherfolk Coordination Division.
Deboned bangus is a popular food item in the Philippines because of the convenience derived when eating brought about by the absence of the numerous bones.
The training included the basics of fish handling and bangus deboning per se. Deboned bangus maybe fried, dried, smoked or frozen with or without adding spices and many other possibilities.
The knowledge imparted through the training were organized to be helpful in the preparation of Bangus during post-harvest. It increases the marketability of bangus, making it more acceptable to the buying public.
