Sablan, BENGUET. Of the 165 registered fisherfolk in the municipality of Sablan, there were 53 eligible beneficiaries of Cash and Food Subsidy Program for Marginal Farmers and Fisherfolk (CFSMFF) who had received the QR-coded vouchers worth PHP 5,000.00, today.
RD Lilibeth L. Signey said that the cash assistance worth PHP 3,000.00 can be claimed at any Lhullier branch while the PHP 2,000.00 will be provided in the form of goods such as rice, chicken and egg. She emphasized that the distribution of food assistance is to give market support to local producers.
Thus, the Banayakeo Sustainable Livelihood Program Association, as DA-recognized KADIWA supplier, facilitated the distribution of goods with the assistance of the DA-Agribusiness & Marketing Assistance Division.
"I encourage the fisherfolk of Sablan to organize themselves into an association to strengthen and sustain fisheries interventions in our municipality, and may the assistance help you suffice your other needs during pandemic", says Sablan Mayor Manuel B. Munar Jr.
The Province of Benguet has a target of 413 recipients for the Program. Benguet Provincial Fisheries Officer Riza A. Pulac then reminded the recipients not to crumple the vouchers for them to claim the cash assistance.
The activity was undertaken in coordination with BFAR, together with Sablan-MA Ramon M. Anacioco and SB Committee Chairman on Agriculture Cornelio Almacen.
