BFAR3 SUPPORTS PRLEC K3 PROGRAM LAUNCH IN BULACAN
SAN MATEO, Norzagaray, August 28 - In support of the provincial launching of PRLEC’s Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan at Kaunlaran (K3) Project, BFAR Central Luzon led by Regional Director Wilfredo Cruz , through the effort of PFO Ralph Atabay, turned over 2 fiberglass reinforced plastic boats complete with marine engines and provided tilapia fingerling replenishment under the BASIL program for Ipo Dam to help address the needs of the Dumagat IPs in the area.
The K3 aims to provide the technical skills necessary for the IPs to make the most out of their ancestral domain, enough to support their families. RD Cruz promised to extend a helping hand in the form of livelihood and skills intervention, provided that the IP community will put the knowledge and tools to good use and to safeguard the land and natural resources they depend on for sustenance.
Other PRLEC participating line agencies were also present during the program launch, namely DTI, DOLE, CDA and DAR, as well as representatives of the PIO, PESO, NCIP, BATVS and IPMR. Governor Daniel Fernando, Mayor Alfredo Germar, MA Eddie Alce, IP chieftains and barangay officials also graced the event. (RCC/ photos by DL)
