South Cotabato Fish Farmers Receive Techno-Demo Projects from BFAR-12
South Cotabato Provincial Fishery Officer Medardo Jamiro, Jr., together with his technical staff facilitated the stocking of the techno-demo projects in the two municipalities of South Cotabato. The three recipients, namely: Fernando Buenavista of Brgy. M Roxas Sto. Niño, Edwin Ante and Rudy Mapili of Brgy. Landan, Polomolok received tilapia fingerlings and feeds on June 23, 2020 for the techno-demo projects. Each recipient received the following tilapia fingerlings required for their area, to wit: Fernando Buenavista- 5,000 pieces, Edwin Ante – 2,500 pieces and Rudy Mapili – 2,500 pieces. They also received a supply of feeds to cover the whole culture period. In Polomolok, the team was joined by Fishery Coordinator Randy Aquinaldo.
The Techno-demo projects of BFAR introduce newly-developed technology for the fish farmers for adoption in their fish farms. Through this project, the Bureau hopes to make fish farmers more productive, contribute in the increase in fishery production, and provide fish farmers opportunity for higher income.
