BFAR 12 Distributes Relief Goods to Seaweeds Farmers and Fisherfolk of Bula, General Santos City
June 11, 2020: DA-BFAR 12 through its Seaweeds Program distributed relief goods to 220 Seaweeds Farmers and Fisherfolk Beneficiaries of Bula, General Santos City. The recipients are from Zone 5, 6 and 8.
Each relief package contains five (5) kilograms Rice, one (1) bar detergent soap, one (1) bar Bath Soap, 10 pcs noodles, 10 sachets Nescafe (3 in 1), six (6) sachets Milo, six (6) sachets Fortified Milk, four (4) canned goods and one (1) kilogram brown sugar.
The event was graced by Barangay Chairman Nicanora T. Vargas, who expressed her gratitude to BFAR 12 for the continued support to the farmers and fisherfolk of Barangay Bula. Further, Roel C. Marabulas from the BFAR 12 South Cotabato Provincial Fishery Office on his message, informed the farmers and fisherfolk that the assistance extended by the Bureau is coming from the Seaweeds Program. Also present on the distribution were Minda T. Faelnar, President, Bula Seaweeds Farmers Association together with Leonila T. Nava, Treasurer; Muaymina J. Sadalani, Secretary; and Luciano A. Agui, Chairman, Deputized Fish Warden (DFW) of Bula.
The Seaweeds Program, headed by Sajid Kari realigned part of the budget to relief goods distribution to help the farmers and fisherfolk in their daily sustenance during this period of pandemic.
