ASIPULO, IFUGAO, February 10, 2025—The Cawayan Fisherfolk Association (CFA) will establish a PHP 1 million village-level fish hatchery in Barangay Cawayan, Asipulo, Ifugao, to enhance fish production and livelihood opportunities. Approved under the BFAR-SAAD Program Phase 2, the project recognizes CFA’s proactive efforts in fisheries development.

CFA collaborated with program coordinators and technical staff to conduct site validation, assessing water availability, accessibility, and environmental sustainability. Members also convened to discuss initial plans and strategies for hatchery operations. The Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) of Asipulo was consulted to align objectives and secure necessary support.

The Program and the association will now proceed with structural planning and implementation, including infrastructure development, procurement, and construction.
