The Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR) joins the celebration of #WorldWildlifeDay, which is aimed at promoting the conservation of the planet’s biodiversity, mainly the species on the verge of extinction. Today also marks the 50th anniversary of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) signed in 1973.

With the theme, “Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation,” this year’s commemoration highlights and honors the people who make significant contributions to sustainability, wildlife, and biodiversity conservation, as well as raising awareness to our crucial role in protecting endangered species and their habitats.

Together, let us become good stewards of the earth and environment!
