Led by Chief Temdik Ngirblekuu of the Palau Division of Maritime Security and Fish and Wildlife Protection and Mr. Carlos Ojeda, Palau Senior Maritime Advisor with the Global Defense Reform Program under the US Department of State, visited the National Fisheries Monitoring Center at the BFAR Central Office in Quezon City today, July 20, 2022.
During the meeting, OIC Director Lilibeth Signey and other BFAR officials joined the delegates from Palau, alongside representatives from partner non-governmental organizations, to discuss the Bureau’s fisheries monitoring system and maritime law enforcement capabilities. The meeting also served as an opportunity to share the best practices in the fight against Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) fishing.
