The group was received by Mr. Nazario Briguera, the Chief Information Officer of the Bureau. During the briefing, the parties discussed the possibility of expanding the collaboration between ParSU and the DA-BFAR in establishing learning platforms particularly for internship of BS Fisheries and Marine Biology students. The strong linkage with the academe sector is one of the priorities of the Bureau as it continues to push for the establishment of Fisheries Management Areas (FMAs) nationwide. The role of the academe sector is vital in having functional FMAs towards sustainable fisheries management and development.

The group is set to visit the DA-BFAR’s National Freshwater Fisheries Technology Center in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.
