Under the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources’ Balik Sigla sa mga Ilog at Lawa (BASIL) program, Sumlang Fisheries Association was awarded 30 pieces of drums, bamboos, fishing nets, 10,000 pieces of tilapia fingerlings, and 97 sacks of feeds. These implements were used by the association to create a now tourist attraction where visitors can feed or catch tilapia.
Amidst the growing industrialization of the location, members of the Sumlang Fisheries Association are hopeful to expand their fishing ground and built more nipa huts to accommodate more tourists.
