12 Cagayancillo Indigenous Fisherfolk Groups Benefit from SAAD Livelihood Projects
Twelve fisherfolk associations in Cagayancillo have received livelihood project inputs provided by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources – Special Area for Agricultural Development (BFAR-SAAD) Program MIMAROPA on April 8 and 22, 2024, benefitting a total of 843 members.
Each set of livelihood projects consists of upright chest freezer, hook and line, diving mask with snorkel, bottom set gill net, and farm implements. The inputs will support the fishers’ post-harvest and marketing activities for seaweed and milkfish culture.
The turnover events were attended by Regional Focal Person Roberto R. Abrera and representatives from the Cagayancillo LGU, including Vice Mayor Lourdes C. Lanoy and Municipal Agriculturist Joseph C. Padul.
