Increase Participation of Women in Fisheries | Integrated Livelihood

Lakbay-Aral for Fisherfolk

The NFARMC-PMC initiates "Lakbay-Aral' for the municipal fisherfolk leaders who came up with exemplary performance in their fishing communities. In coordination with Regional FARMC Coordinators, NFARMC-PMC chooses fisherfolk recipients who have successful fishery projects worth emulating that are FARMC led. Also, the NFARMC-PMC facilitates trainings to enhance the leadership skills of fisherfolk and Regional FARMC Coordinators.

In national trainings, there is always a scheduled tour for the participants for them to enjoy the tourist sites available in the area as well as show BFAR operating facilities and projects. This is the very opportune time to bring participants to fisherfolk projects which they themselves design and manage. Exchange of information and ideas matters in this venue. This is more economical and effective.
