BANTAY DAGAT
BFAR undertakes various strategies to promote the conservation of the country's fishery and aquatic resources. Among these, is fisherfolk empowerment through organization of the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Councils or FARMCs nationwide. Aside from their trainings on conservation and proper resource management, BFAR also provides the necessary logistics such as patrol boats equipped with navigational tools to strengthen their capabilities to curb illegal fishing activities in their respective areas.
